Description
The Digital Modernization Sector at Leidos is seeking a Tier II Network Technician to support various WAN and LAN networks. Provide incident resolution, routing changes, firewall changes; act as subject matter expert in WAN and LAN technologies; support intra‐ and inter‐net and other data communications systems or segments of networked system.
Job Duties
* Support the installation and maintenance of the client LAN/WAN devices.
* Respond to and resolve incident tickets.
* Draft and implement standard network change requests.
* Provide support to Tier III network engineers for incident management and projects (site surveys, Technical Exchange Meetings (TEMs), coordinate and install new equipment).
* Perform configuration management functions such as update topology drawings, ensure asset management records are accurate, and conduct inventory.
* Coordinate network operations, maintenance, repairs, or upgrades.
* Configure and troubleshoot layer 2 switching (VLANs, Port Security, thin configurations).
* Perform COMSEC custodian duties ensuring proper handling, storage, and safeguarding of cryptographic materials in compliance with U.S. Government policies.
* Maintain accountability and inventory control of COMSEC equipment, keying material, and related documentation.
* Support the installation, configuration, and troubleshooting of encryption devices, including TACLANEs and other secure communication equipment.
* Support network security operations, ensuring COMSEC integration aligns with overall cybersecurity requirements.
Requirements
* TS SCI Poly.
* Candidate must have 16 years of experience (combination of work history and education).
* Compliance with DoD 8570 IAT Level 2.
* Working knowledge of basic fundamentals.>
* Working knowledge of layer 2 switching concepts.
* Knowledge of CISCO/Juniper Return Material Authorization (RMA) processes.
* Layer 1 and Layer 2 network experience (CAT5, Single Mode (SM)/Multimode (MM) Fiber, serial cables, SFP).
* Knowledge of TCP/IP and OSI models.
* Knowledge of Cisco IOS, Juniper JUNOS, and Brocade and Foundry OS.
* Familiarity with Layer 3 protocols such as OSPF, BGP, VRRP, HSRP, MPLS LSP, GRE.
* Familiarity with Microsoft Visio, Service, and Atlassian Confluence.
* Working knowledge of ServiceNow or similar ITSM products.
