Diesel Motor Mechanic/Hydraulic Specialist – Specialist Equipment Solutions
Marcem Australia is a premier provider of specialist equipment, tooling, and training for the mining, oil & gas, and resources sectors. We are looking for a Workshop Technician with a strong Diesel Motor Mechanic background to join our team and ensure our specialist fleet remains site-ready and high-performing.
The Role
Based in our workshop, you will be responsible for the maintenance, diagnostic testing, and repair of a diverse range of heavy-duty equipment. Your expertise in diesel engines will be critical in supporting our rental fleet and client-owned assets, ensuring every piece of gear meets our strict safety and reliability standards.
Key Responsibilities
* Maintenance & Repair: Conduct preventative maintenance and major overhauls of diesel HPUs (Hydraulic Power Units).
* Diagnostics: Use advanced computerized equipment to detect and diagnose complex mechanical and electrical faults.
* Specialist Tooling: Service and calibrate hydraulic, pneumatic, and electronic tooling, including torque and tension equipment.
* Quality Assurance: Ensure all equipment is "site-ready," performing quality inspections and maintaining accurate service records.
* Safety & Compliance: Maintain a clean, safe workshop environment in accordance with Safe Work Australia standards.
Your Skills & Experience
* Qualifications: Relevant Trade Certificate (e.g., Certificate III in Heavy Commercial Vehicle Mechanical Technology or similar).
* Diesel Expertise: Strong hands-on experience in diagnosing and repairing diesel engines and heavy-duty machinery.
* Technical Proficiency: Skilled in using diagnostic software, multimeters, and specialized hand/power tools.
* System Knowledge: Solid understanding of hydraulic, pneumatic, and basic electrical systems.
* Attributes: A logical problem-solver with a high level of attention to detail and a commitment to precision.
