Re.Group is proud to be delivering a new, state-of-the-art Material Recovery Facility (MRF) at Browns Plains. This facility represents a significant investment in advanced recycling infrastructure and will play a critical role in processing and recovering recyclable materials for Queensland communities. We are seeking a hands-on Maintenance Supervisor to support the facility from commissioning through to stable, high-performing day-to-day operations.
About the role
* Perform preventative and reactive maintenance on plant machinery, conveyors and associated equipment, with a strong focus on conveyors
* Use the MEX maintenance management system for asset tracking, work orders and maintenance scheduling
* Lead and mentor a team of two maintenance fitters
* Diagnose, troubleshoot and resolve mechanical faults efficiently to minimise downtime
* Liaise with contractors and suppliers to coordinate maintenance works and ensure timely delivery of services and materials
* Proactively identify and implement equipment and process improvements
* Support shutdowns, equipment rebuilds and plant upgrade projects
* Manage the monthly Repairs & Maintenance (R&M) budget, ensuring costs are controlled and aligned with operational requirements
* Ensure compliance with all safety requirements, including reporting hazards, near misses and unsafe practices
About you
* Demonstrated experience in maintenance fitting within waste management/recycling, FMCG, food production, manufacturing or heavy industrial environments
* Strong experience diagnosing and repairing conveyors
* Previous experience using the MEX maintenance system (highly regarded)
* Certificate III in Engineering – Mechanical Trade (desirable but not essential)
* Prior experience leading a small to medium-sized maintenance team
* Strong commitment to safety and quality work practices
* Good understanding of MRF equipment and mechanical troubleshooting
* Strong communication and interpersonal skills
* High level of computer literacy across common systems and digital tools
* Ability to be on-call when required for major breakdowns or urgent maintenance issues
