We are seeking enthusiastic people to fill multiple vacancies in the newly formed Metadata and Data Development team.
Metadata and Data Development Team:
The Metadata and Data Development Team has been newly established at the Department of Health to lead the delivery of new data collections in a new enterprise data platform, including real-time data.
The initial priority of the Metadata and Data Development team will be the development of new data collections necessary to support systemwide visibility of real-time hospital capacity and demand. Real-time data capability is needed to manage system pressures and improve the flow of patients though emergency departments.
The new team, within the Information and System Performance directorate at the Department of Health, will lead development of the new data collections, including data model design, business rules and collection governance. They will work closely with stakeholders across the WA health system, including the State Health Operations Centre and Health Service Providers to understand requirements, and the Health Support Services teams who will be building the models.
The new team has also incorporated the existing metadata team, who are evolving their role as the Department of Health increases in information maturity. The metadata team provide high level metadata support to both existing data programs and the new enterprise data platform. Key priorities of the metadata team include the development and implementation of a new metadata repository, master data and reference lists, and metadata governance including development and review of data standards.
All Metadata and Data Development team members are expected to be exposed to a wide variety of WA health data and initiatives, and this represents an exciting opportunity to be part of a new team working on new data models and advancing data capabilities.
