Reporting to the Head of Commercial Sport, the Client Commercial Manager – Sport is a critical role within our media organization, responsible for supporting the development and execution of strategies to drive revenue growth in the sports division. The role focuses on managing key sport relationships, developing commercial opportunities for our clients, and ensuring successful implementation of commercial initiatives.
Key Responsibilities
* Revenue Growth: Assist in developing and implementing strategies to grow revenue from sports content across multiple platforms, including digital, print, video, audio, fantasy sport and social media.
* Client Relationship Management: Build and maintain strong relationships alongside our Client Partnership team with key sport clients, sponsors, and partners, ensuring their needs are met and identifying opportunities for upselling and cross‑selling.
* Commercial Initiatives: Build, maintain and update Sport network and brand collateral, media kits and go‑to‑market presentations.
* Integrated Briefs: Support the ideation and creation of integrated brief responses that span across multiple channels, formats and clients. Assist the Client Partnerships team with client deliverables as required, including media schedules.
* Market Research and Analysis: Conduct research and analysis to identify market trends, competitor activities, and potential revenue opportunities, providing insights to support strategic decisions.
* Sales Support: Work closely with the Client Partnership sales team to develop proposals, presentations, and pitches that effectively communicate the value of the company's sports offerings to potential clients.
* Campaign Management: Oversee the execution of commercial sport campaigns and initiatives, ensuring they are delivered on time, within budget, and achieve desired outcomes.
* Collaboration: Collaborate with internal teams, including editorial, product, marketing, and finance, to ensure the seamless integration and execution of commercial strategies.
* Reporting and Analytics: Monitor and report on the performance of commercial initiatives, using data to make informed recommendations for improvement.
* Compliance and Risk Management: Ensure all commercial activities comply with legal requirements and company policies, managing risks effectively.
Who are you?
* Educational Background: Bachelor's degree in Business, Marketing, Sports Management, or a related field is highly desirable.
* Experience: A minimum of 5 years of commercial/sales experience within the sports or media industry, with a strong understanding of sports media landscapes and revenue models.
* Client Management: Proven experience in managing client relationships and delivering high levels of client satisfaction.
* Sales Acumen: Strong sales and negotiation skills, with experience in closing deals and managing commercial agreements.
* Analytical Skills: Strong analytical and problem‑solving skills, with the ability to use data to inform decisions and strategies.
* Communication: Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to effectively present ideas and influence stakeholders.
* Project Management: Experience in managing projects from inception to completion, with the ability to meet deadlines and manage multiple priorities.
* Team Collaboration: Strong team player with the ability to work collaboratively across departments and with various stakeholders.
* Digital Proficiency: Familiarity with digital media platforms and tools, including content management systems, analytics software, and CRM systems.
* Innovative Mindset: Ability to think creatively and bring innovative solutions to commercial challenges.
