This role is not just about sales; it's a strategic business development and key account management position where you will collaborate directly with leading builders, procurement managers, construction directors, architects, and designers to deliver innovative staircase solutions.
Key Responsibilities include:
1. Acquiring new builder clients quarterly
2. Managing and expanding existing residential builder accounts
3. Conducting meetings with various stakeholders, from site supervisors to executives
4. Quoting, negotiating, and closing contracts/projects
5. Providing technical advice on products like MDF, American Oak, Steel, Glass
6. Forecasting sales and analyzing margins using Oracle NetSuite
7. Participating in industry events to build relationships
8. Utilizing LinkedIn for networking and brand visibility
Ideal Candidate Profile:
* 5-7+ years in B2B sales, business development, or estimating within construction
* Proven success with residential builders
* Strong negotiation skills
* Ability to interpret building plans and provide technical guidance
* Proficient in ERP/CRM systems, Outlook, Excel
* Deep understanding of Melbourne and regional VIC builder landscape
* Valid driver’s license for a mobile role
Bonus Points:
* Experience in stair, door, window, or building systems
* Ability to train or coach sales teams
* Familiarity with AI tools like ChatGPT or SYSTEMology
