Specialist Learning Support Teacher Job Opportunity
Job Summary: We are seeking a highly skilled and dedicated Specialist Learning Support Teacher to join our team at the Bairnsdale Campus.
This is a full-time, permanent position starting in Term 4. The role involves supporting a Year 3 student with neurodiversity needs and requires knowledge and experience in this area.
About the Role
* Develop and implement individualised education plans that cater to the unique needs of students.
* Collaborate closely with classroom teachers, families, allied health professionals, and support staff to ensure a consistent approach.
* Design and implement effective behaviour and engagement strategies, including trauma-informed practice and Positive Behaviour Support.
* Provide leadership and expertise in inclusive practice to support colleagues in upskilling and delivering high-quality learning experiences.
Key Responsibilities
* Hold a VIT Registration as a teacher with a strong understanding of the Australian Curriculum and Syllabus.
* Have expertise in neurodiversity, particularly in supporting students with Down Syndrome and broader neurodiverse needs.
* Be willing to adopt modern teaching methods and technologies to enhance student outcomes.
