Overview

The Role To ensure the proficient and prompt delivery of emergency medical services. The individual will serve as a key clinical leader and educator within the Emergency Department, in accordance with the approved scope of practice and the emergency services capacity of the facility.

Responsibilities will include

- Supervise and facilitate the provision of medical services in the Emergency Department.
- Assist the Nursing Unit Manager and the Director of the Emergency Department in effectively managing the department.
- Provide leadership and assistance in the planning, organization, coordination, and evaluation of Emergency Department activities.

Location

The Location Nestled in Victoria, this urban center is enveloped by expansive lakes, providing ideal settings for boating excursions, picturesque strolls, and fishing adventures. The area boasts excellent shopping destinations and exquisite restaurants offering a diverse array of cuisines. With a variety of public and private schools catering to all age groups, educational opportunities abound. The climate is delightful, characterised by mild winters and warm, pleasant summers.

The Hospital

The facility treats approximately 12,000 acute inpatients and 17,000+ Emergency Department patients a year. It provides specialist surgical, medical, obstetrics and gynaecology and paediatric services with some general practice inpatients.

- There is a 6 bed Critical Care Unit.
- There is a number of visiting sub-specialty services including Urology, Cardiology, Oncology, Nephrology & Haemodialysis.
- The Emergency Department facilities include 2 resus bays, 4 cubicles and 2 treatment rooms.
- The Emergency Department is supported by a range of Junior Medical Officers and Senior Medical Officers and highly skilled nursing staff.

Requirements

- Eligible for Limited, Provisional or General Registration with AHPRA
- Experience within Australian Healthcare System (Desirable)
- Australian Medical Council Part 1 (MCQ) & 2 (Clinical Examination) for IMG's only Desirable)
- Previous Senior ED or Senior Medicine experience in Australia (Desirable)
