About the Role
As a Product Designer/Draftsperson, you'll play a key role in collaborating with stakeholders to design and refine product solutions. You'll be responsible for creating detailed 2D and 3D technical drawings, specifying fabrication techniques, and ensuring our products meet performance, quality, and cost-effectiveness standards. Australian work rights are required for this position.
What Youll Do
- Design & Drafting: Develop accurate technical drawings and documentation for Sheetmetal and fabrication projects using SolidWorks.
- Collaboration: Work closely with the team, stakeholders, and customers to deliver solutions that meet project requirements.
- Innovation: Apply Design for Manufacture and Assembly (DFMA) principles to enhance efficiency and end-user experience.
- Problem Solving: Identify and resolve technical challenges, conduct root cause analysis, and drive continuous improvement.
- Support Production: Provide technical support to production and quality teams throughout the fabrication process.
What Youll Bring
- Diploma or Degree in Engineering (CAD/Mechanical preferred) or equivalent qualification.
- Minimum 3 years' experience in product design and drafting, ideally in metal fabrication.
- Proficiency in CAD software (SolidWorks & Draftsight).
- Experience with ERP and BOM management systems (Workplan highly regarded).
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.
- Practical knowledge of fabrication machinery, tools, and measuring instruments.
- A proactive, detail-oriented approach and the ability to thrive under changing deadlines.
