What's the role?
We offer an exciting opportunity for a Senior Network Engineer within the Secure Network Services (SNS) team within the Technology division. The role works closely with customer engagement, network architecture, engineering, build, and run teams to deliver expert technical services across the implementation, operation, and support of high‐performance network infrastructure. Responsibilities include leading network operations, troubleshooting complex issues, participating in major incident management, monitoring and resolving network incidents, coordinating with cross‐functional technology teams, reviewing and implementing network changes, drafting and executing change and implementation plans, and providing on‐call support.
The role also contributes to design reviews, disaster recovery planning and testing, root cause analysis, and capacity and performance planning to ensure the stability and availability of network services. It supports the development of infrastructure standards and continuous improvement initiatives, provides technical consultation to business and technology stakeholders, and maintains awareness of emerging technologies to support effective delivery and ongoing optimisation of network services across the organisation.
What do I need?
To be successful in this role, you need to have the following skills, education & personal attributes.
Essential:
* Excellent written and verbal communications skills are mandatory.
* Strong ownership mindset and a great attitude.
* Strong technical knowledge of Cisco Routing and Switching (BGP,OSPF,STP,NXOS,N9K)
* Strong technical knowledge of DNS, DHCP and IPAM - Infoblox Infrastructure
* In-depth technical networking experience
* Prior work experience in large organizations supporting complex networks
* Prior work experience in large organizations supporting network operations
* Operations on-call responsibility on a periodic, rostered basis.
Highly Desirable:
* Strong technical knowledge in VxLAN EVPN or related overlay technology.
* Strong understanding of Cloud networking Azure/AWS
* Good understanding of Automation platforms (Python,PyATS,Jenkins,ROBOT Framework)
* Good understanding of Orchestration platforms (NDFC,DCNM)
* Vendor certification: CCNP or CCIE
* Good technical knowledge of Firewalls (Juniper high-end SRX, CheckPoint, Fortinet, NSX)
Desirable:
* An understanding of ITIL processes (particularly change management) and ServiceNow in a large enterprise.
* Strong technical knowledge of Load Balancing (F5 – LTM, GTM, APM, ASM), Crypto PKI and DNS
* Experience working in the financial services sector
