Role
The Senior Lawyer, Rolling Stock Development, sits within the Operations and Commercial Team in DTP Legal and is responsible for providing advice on a wide range of complex legal issues, with a focus on matters relating to the development and delivery of rolling stock and other transport projects. The Senior Lawyer, Rolling Stock Development, is expected to contribute to the delivery of outstanding client service and timely, clear and pragmatic legal advice and related services by DTP Legal.

With the ability to communicate and negotiate effectively, this will enable you to navigate tight deadlines. The Senior Lawyer will:
• Provide advice to the department on a wide range of legal issues with a focus on commercial law matters relating to the development and delivery of rolling stock and other transport projects, intellectual property and all associated contractual issues.
• Draft, review and negotiate a range of legal documentation, including contracts, funding agreements and MOUs.
• Establish and maintain effective partnerships with relevant stakeholders to support delivery of the department’s objectives.
• Undertake legal research and prepare legal advice, briefs, and correspondence on legal issues in relation to development and delivery of rolling stock and other transport projects.
• Identify and escalate as necessary potential legal risk and support implementation of risk mitigation strategies within the department.
• Perform other duties, tasks and provide legal advice as directed by DTP Legal.
