The Role
ABC News is looking for a Reporter to join our Newcastle newsroom. In this role, you'll create engaging, original journalism across radio, digital and social platforms while working closely with a collaborative and high‐performing editorial team. You'll help shape the local news agenda, contribute to breaking coverage, and bring stories of Newcastle and the Hunter region to audiences nationwide.
The Job
* Produce and present news bulletins, interviews, Q&A and cross‐platform packages, including breaking news.
* Create compelling local content that resonates with both regional and national audiences.
* Participate in planning and commissioning to develop strong story ideas and boost engagement.
* Source, identifyand develop original stories that reflect the diversity of the community.
* Contribute to local emergency broadcasting and liaise with key stakeholders as required.
* Actively represent ABC values and uphold all relevant workplace and editorial policies.
