Volunteer Assistant Florist - Make our community bloom - East Geelong
This role would suit a student studying a Certificate in Floristry or someone with previous work experience as a Florist.

About the role: genUs Eastern Hub provides the East Geelong community with a space where all people are welcome to meet, learn, celebrate and eat with a fabulous Seasons Café on site The community space hosts regular classes, events and exhibitions. The Eastern Hub is in a very fortunate position to have flowers donated every Monday morning from the Geelong Flower Farm, allowing for flowers that would otherwise be discarded to have a second chance at life. The Team is currently seeking a person with previous experience as a Florist, or someone studying Floristry to assist staff and other volunteers.
As a Volunteer Florist Assistant you'll help transform these donated flowers into stunning displays for our community spaces. You'll sort and arrange flowers into vases, refresh existing arrangements, and dispose of any past-their-best blooms. Your creativity will help create an inviting atmosphere for everyone who walks through our doors.
The Essentials
* NDIS Worker Screening Check
* National police check
* Working with Children Check
* Completion of NDIS Workers Orientation module
* Completion of genU online training modules
* A flair for arranging flowers
* Excellent communication and teamwork skills
Please be aware that this role requires long periods of standing, with the opportunity to sit when required. Repetitive movements and use of cutting equipment like hand pruners and thorn strippers is required. Gardening gloves and aprons are provided.
