These exciting opportunities sit within ASIC's Supervisory Cyber and Operational Resilience Centre (SCORC), a multidisciplinary team focused on enhancing the operational resilience of Australia's financial system. As an Analyst (Geopolitical and Crisis Response), you'll contribute to crisis preparedness, regulatory intelligence, and the analysis of global developments that influence domestic financial markets and regulated entities.

* $78,720 - $112,011 (plus 15.4% superannuation)
* 2-year contract opportunity
* Security Clearance: NV1 (ability to obtain and maintain)
The team
Supervisory Cyber & Operational Resilience Centre (SCORC) supports ASIC's external crisis management capability. We help enable good outcomes for Australian markets and consumers by preparing for and responding to geopolitical crises, cyber security events, financial market instability, and other severe challenges. SCORC team members design crisis scenarios, participate in intra-Government simulations, develop targeted and actionable intelligence, maintain playbooks, and capture lessons learned.
The role
As An Analyst (Geopolitical And Crisis Response), You Will
* Provide clear, insightful analysis on geopolitical, technological and systemic risks, and their implications for ASIC, regulated entities, and financial consumers.
* Support ASIC's crisis response frameworks and participate in inter-agency scenario planning and simulations.
* Assist in maintaining ASIC's external crisis response plans and internal playbooks, ensuring they remain current, practical and aligned to sectoral risks.
* Contribute to the design and execution of technology and operational resilience supervisory initiatives.
* Provide program support across SCORC activities, including stakeholder engagement, team operations, reporting and project tracking
About You
You'll have tertiary qualifications in commerce, finance, economics or law, along with experience as an analyst - ideally gained in a corporate, consulting, government, academic or regulatory environment. You bring sound analytical skills and a strong ability to interpret data, identify trends, and assess risk in a complex and evolving environment. Experience in public sector administration or similar contexts is valuable, as is a working knowledge of regulatory systems and the ability to quickly grasp sector-specific issues. Exposure to crisis management or incident response practice will be well regarded.
You're collaborative, curious, and proactive—able to build strong relationships with internal and external stakeholders and work effectively across teams. You bring sound judgment, can adapt quickly to shifting priorities, and are comfortable working in situations that require initiative and strategic thinking. You're a strong communicator with the ability to influence and negotiate, and you bring a level-headed approach to complex or ambiguous issues. You think critically and laterally, bringing insight and creativity to your analysis, and you stay across developments that may affect your work. Most of all, you're committed to delivering high-quality outcomes and contributing to a positive, forward-thinking team culture.
