What is the role?
Central Procurement Services (CPS) oversees the strategic framework, contract management, and industry engagement model to facilitate organisational objectives through compliant and timely procurement processes.
CPS seeks highly motivated and organised professionals capable of working independently to provide procurement expertise that ensures value for money and compliance with AFP procurement activities in support of AFP operations.
AFP appointees are expected to achieve outcomes consistent with regulatory requirements, the AFP Code of Conduct, and AFP Governance Instruments. The selected candidate is expected to fulfil core responsibilities and satisfy all position requirements as detailed below.

What will you do?
As a team member, you play an essential part in delivering procurement services to the organisation, acting as a reliable advisor to the business. You will focus on customers and collaborate closely with business areas to help achieve organisational goals.
* Providing dedicated, end-to-end procurement services across different AFP portfolios on a daily basis.
* Drafting and reviewing requests for quotes, spending proposals, and contracts under supervision.
* Offering mentorship and coaching to junior team members when necessary.
* Ensuring all procurement and contract documents comply with requirements.
* Building and sustaining effective relationships with both internal and external stakeholders.
* Interpreting legislation, policies, and procedures, and escalating issues when appropriate.
* Keeping up-to-date knowledge of Commonwealth procurement legislative frameworks, rules, and guidance.
* ANegative Vetting 1 (Secret) security clearance or the ability to obtain one.
* Demonstrated experience of applying legislation and policies with a transferable skillset.
* Knowledge of Government Procurement practices.
Additional Information
* This position is an AFP Band 5 level.
* This role is based in Canberra; however consideration to work from an AFP office in Melbourne or Perth may be negotiated.
* We support flexible work arrangements, however it is expected that the successful applicants will work from the office at least 2-3 days per week for team connectivity and collaboration.
* Due to the expected high volume of applicants, feedback will only be available to those applicants that progress to the interview stage.
