About the role: This is a key part of a collaborative team responsible for assessing and approving development and building applications. It combines technical expertise in planning and building legislation with strong communication skills.
Key Responsibilities:
 * Assessing and approving development and building applications, ensuring compliance with relevant laws and regulations.
 * Providing expert advice to the public and resolving issues across council offices.
 * Preparing documentation and supporting construction projects, from initial assessment to completion.

Requirements:
 * Accreditation or evidence of completed training which provides eligibility for registration as a certified building surveyor within 12 months of commencement of employment.
 * A valid Class C driver's licence and practical experience as a building surveyor.
 * Strong working knowledge of key legislation and codes, including environmental planning and assessment act, local government act, national construction code, and relevant plumbing and certifier regulations.
 * Ability to manage staff and workflows, communicate clearly, and resolve conflicts effectively.
