Environmental Sustainability Specialist
Careers are seeking a highly skilled Environmental Sustainability Specialist to coordinate environmental risk management and compliance activities relating to our services, assets, and public land.
The successful candidate will lead the implementation of corporate processes to ensure our compliance systems and procedures are maintained and fit-for-purpose. They will also lead projects to develop and continuously improve our environmental management system.
This role works closely with internal stakeholders to ensure that they have the skills and knowledge to deliver strong environmental management of our operations.
The role sits within a centralised strategy team that provides specialist environmental sustainability and climate resilience support across the organisation.
Key Responsibilities:
* Lead the implementation of corporate processes to ensure compliance systems and procedures are maintained and fit-for-purpose.
* Lead projects to develop and continuously improve our environmental management system.
* Provide technical and strategic advice to internal stakeholders on environmental management.
* Review documents for our construction sites, day-to-day service delivery activities, and contaminated land obligations.
Requirements:
* Degree-level qualifications in Environmental Science, Environmental Management, or a similar discipline.
* Experience in managing environmental issues and risks for physical assets or construction sites, including pollution risk management, contaminated land management, and climate risk assessments.
* Strong stakeholder engagement and communication capability.
