As the Commercial Manager, you will play a pivotal role in managing the day-to-day project operations from a commercial perspective and play a pivotal role in maintaining client relationships, analysing strategies, creating mitigation measures, and developing improved action plans for the profitability of the project.
About the Role
* Prepare and submit monthly client progress claims
* Oversee cost control, forecasting, and financial reporting
* Manage project procurement
* Manage site (contract) administration
* Head contract and Subcontractor Administration
* Assist with financial audits (internal and external).
* Monitor and report on government policy requirements.
* Provide commercial advice and support to the project team.
Key Requirements
* Tertiary Qualifications and Background in Quantity Surveying, Construction Management, Engineering, Commercial Law or similar.
* Minimum of 5 years' experience in Senior Commercial roles in the Australian Construction or Resource industry, at least 3 years working on the contractor side (RTIO Desirable)
* Experienced in the detailed application of commercial and finance systems and processes and providing high-level guidance and advice to operational and project managers.
* Experience in effective and profitable management of contracts. This includes identification of, and managing risks, cost, and Change management along with tendering and awarding project procurement.
* Strong negotiation skills with a proven track record of settling claims.
* Experience with Hard Dollar/Lump Sum contracts.
* Ability to mentor junior team members.
* Valid Australian driver's license, national police clearance and full Australian working rights.
