Network-Centric L2/3 Onsite Engineer (Education) – 2 days/week | Immediate Start
Location: Sydney (on-site at a K–12 school)
Engagement: Part-time contract (2 days/week), likely to extend

About the role
We're seeking a hands-on L2/3 engineer with a strong networking focus to support an education client on site two days per week. You'll handle day-to-day network and systems tasks with escalation support from a remote engineering team.
Key responsibilities
* Manage onsite network tasks: switching, Wi-Fi, VLANs, DHCP/DNS, basic routing, patching/port mapping
* Support Windows Server and hypervisors (VMware/Hyper-V)
* Monitor/maintain Veeam backups (job health, restore tests)
* Triage hardware issues (PCs, peripherals) and coordinate warranty/service calls
* Provide clear, friendly support to teaching/administration staff; log and update tickets; follow change processes
About you
* 3–5+ years EUC/Desktop with solid networking fundamentals (L2 switching, Wi-Fi, VLANs)
* Experience with Windows Server, VMware/Hyper-V, Veeam
* Strong communication with non-technical users; able to work independently onsite
* Current NSW WWCC (employee) or receipt of application prior to start
* Full Australian work rights
Nice to have
* Cisco/Meraki/Aruba exposure, Intune/AD, ITIL practice, prior school environment experience
Level & support
Role was scoped for L3, but strong L2 candidates are welcome—backline support provided.
Rate
Competitive hourly rate (contract) + super, commensurate with experience.
