About the Role Our program provides 12 weeks of paid on-the-job work experience during your university vacation period. It allows you to implement your theoretical knowledge in a practical environment, whilst offering you a pathway towards your career in mining. Vacation employment opportunities exist in a number of disciplines, and applicants will be required to commit for the duration of the program. The Glencore Vacation Program will commence onsite on Monday 25 November 2024 and conclude on Friday 14 February 2025. Vacation employment opportunities exist in the following disciplines: ENGINEERING: Chemical Civil Electrical Geotechnical Mechanical Metallurgy Mining OTHER: Environmental Science / Engineering Finance / Accounting Geology / Earth Science Human Resources Information Systems / Information Technology Survey Workplace Health & Safety About You Currently enrolled in full-time studies at University, studying a relevant Bachelor or similar Committed to maintaining a safe work environment Exhibit an openness and willingness to learn Locations You will have the opportunity to work with leaders in your field in the following locations: Mount Isa, QLD (Residential) Townsville, QLD (Residential) McArthur River Mine, NT (FIFO) For residential roles, you will be expected to relocate to the local area for the duration of the 12-week program. Accommodation will be provided as part of the package if required to relocate for the program. Eligibility You must be currently enrolled in full-time studies at University. Whilst priority will be given to second and third year undergraduate students studying the relevant discipline, students who will have completed at least one full year of study by the end of 2024 are eligible to apply.
