About the Office UNDA is embarking on an ambitious digital transformation journey and is actively seeking dynamic individuals to join our team and support this exciting initiative. About the role This position will be responsible for designing, developing, and maintaining high-quality, high-performance, user-centric web applications and digital interfaces using React and modern front-end technologies. This role plays a crucial part in the University’s digital transformation initiatives, ensuring that the University’s portal and digital channels deliver a seamless, engaging, and accessible experience. As a member of the Information Technology Office, the Front-End Web Developer will collaborate with designers, back-end developers, and stakeholders to implement innovative web solutions that enhance Learning & Teaching, Research, and Administration. The role requires a strong technical foundation in React, JavaScript, front-end frameworks, and API integration, combined with a keen eye for UI/UX best practices. A key aspect of this role is consuming APIs and data from Microsoft Dynamics 365, Power Platform, and other integration points. The Front-End Developer will work closely with back-end developers and integration specialists to ensure that front-end applications retrieve, display, and interact with data efficiently while maintaining performance, security, and usability standards. This position is ideal for a skilled and proactive React developer, with a strong understanding of modern front end frameworks, API consumption, authentication mechanisms, and performance optimisation, passionate about building seamless digital experiences and contributing to a forward-thinking IT environment that supports the evolving needs of the University community. Key Responsibilities Develop, maintain, and enhance responsive and accessible web sites and applications using React, HTML/CSS, JavaScript, TypeScript, and modern front-end technologies. Consume RESTful APIs, GraphQL, and Webhooks from Microsoft Dynamics 365, Power Platform, and other services. Develop responsive, accessible, and user-friendly interfaces that comply with WCAG 2.1 accessibility standards. Work with UI/UX designers to translate business requirements, wireframes and prototypes into functional components. Implement secure authentication mechanisms, including integration with Okta, OAuth, and OpenID Connect. Ensure authentication and authorisation processes align with best security practices and University policies Qualifications, skills & experience A relevant degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Software Engineering, or a related field (or equivalent industry experience). Proven experience in front-end web development using React, JavaScript, TypeScript, and modern UI frameworks. Experience working with UI/UX designers to translate Figma files and design prototypes into functional web applications. Familiarity with state management (Redux, React Context API) and modern front-end architectures. Experience in consuming APIs (RESTful, GraphQL, Webhooks), data integration best practices and handling data processing and optimisation. Exposure to Microsoft Power Platform, Dynamics 365 integrations and developing custom UI components using Power Apps Component Framework (PCF). Strong background in client-side authentication and authorisation mechanisms, including OAuth, OpenID Connect, and Okta integration. Understanding of performance optimization techniques (caching, lazy loading, code splitting). Experience with version control (Git) and CI/CD deployment workflows.
