About the Role St Peters Lutheran College is seeking a dedicated Teaching Assistant to join our Secondary Years team. The Teaching Assistant plays a key role in supporting teachers to deliver the College’s educational programs, both within and outside the classroom. They work under the guidance of teaching staff to provide individual and small group support, contribute to the wellbeing of students, and assist in the smooth day-to-day operation of the learning environment. Key Responsibilities Assist teachers in delivering lessons by preparing resources and supporting individuals or small groups, including students with diverse learning needs. Support students with diverse learning needs, including students supported through Exceptional Learners. Observe and record student progress or learning information when requested. Assist with supervision during class activities, excursions, camps, and College events as required. Promote positive student behaviour, support wellbeing strategies, and foster respectful, caring relationships aligned with College values. Work effectively with staff, students, and families while contributing to an inclusive environment and participating in College events and activities. What You Bring Experience in a similar role within a Secondary School setting, contributing to effective student learning and classroom support. Demonstrated knowledge and experience in supporting the learning and development of secondary school-aged students, including literacy, numeracy, and social skills. Comprehensive knowledge of classroom routines, school policies, and duty-of-care responsibilities. Demonstrated high level of professionalism in maintaining confidentiality, respecting student diversity, and supporting inclusive education practices. Excellent written and oral communication, negotiation, and interpersonal skills. Highly developed organisational and time management skills. Commitment to the College’s Christian ethos and values.
