Overview
Are you an Electrical Project Engineer looking to transition from generalist tasks to high-level power system engineering? We are seeking a technically driven professional to join our expanding Darwin team. This is a role designed for an engineer who wants to be at the forefront of Australia's energy transition, working on sophisticated infrastructure and system stability projects across the Northern Territory.
As a valued member of our national team of 90+ professionals, you will have the chance to contribute to landmark projects, from large-scale BESS installations to complex mining reticulation, ensuring our clients are ready for a sustainable energy future.
Responsibilities
* Run load flow, fault level, and protection coordination studies using platforms such as ETAP, SKM PowerTools, or SafeGrid.
* Develop detailed designs for HV and LV reticulation, switch rooms, MCCs, kiosks, and transformers.
* Create earthing and lightning protection designs, including step and touch potential modelling.
* Contribute to the technical delivery of renewable energy projects and Battery Energy Storage Systems (BESS).
* Conduct arc flash hazard analysis and provide mitigation recommendations to ensure site safety.
* Produce high-quality technical reports, drawings, and compliance documentation for clients and regulatory bodies.
Qualifications
* A degree or advanced diploma in Electrical Engineering.
* Around 3–5 years of practical experience in power system analysis and design.
* Strong familiarity with Australian Standards, specifically AS/NZS 3000, AS3008, AS2067, and AS1768.
* RPEQ registration or current eligibility and progress toward registration with Engineers Australia.
* A commitment to an \"open book\" methodology that builds genuine trust with clients and colleagues.
