CABINET MAKER
J & D JOINERY PTY LTD has an opportunity for an experienced and enthusiastic Cabinet maker to join our friendly team. The position involves installation and factory work, requires attention to detail and the ability to work as part of a team. We are looking for a team member who takes pride in their work, is organised, motivated and reliable.

The Role
You will be responsible for manufacturing, assembling, and installing bespoke cabinetry and joinery projects. The role involves both factory-based production and on-site installations. Attention to detail, precision, and the ability to work as part of a team are essential.
Tasks
* Examine drawings, work orders, and sample parts to determine specifications, dimensions, tolerances, and materials required
* Select, prepare and work with materials including timber, veneers, laminates, melamine, MDF, engineered boards, synthetic wood / composite materials
* Mark out, cut, shape, rout, plane and machine components to specifications using both hand and power tools and CNC / automated machinery
* Assemble parts to form sections of cabinetry and joinery, ensuring accurate alignment, fit and finish
* Fit hardware and fittings (hinges, locks, catches, drawer slides, shelving, handles, pulls)
* Install cabinetry and joinery on site (kitchens, bathrooms, laundries, wardrobes, commercial fitouts)
* Apply protective coatings, edge banding, veneers or finishes to surfaces (e.g. laminates, paints, stains)
* Repair, refurbish or modify existing cabinetry or furniture as needed
* Check quality, identify defects, make corrections or adjustments
* Maintain workshop equipment, tools and machinery in safe working order
* Keep accurate records of materials used, time, waste, job progress and handover documentation
* Work closely with project managers, designers, subcontractors or trades on site to coordinate installations
Skills & Experience:
* Minimum 2 -3 years relevant industry experience
