As the
Reporting Developer
, you will provide RAAFA with business intelligence support by developing and maintaining Power BI dashboards and reporting solutions. Working closely with the Data Analyst, this role will help deliver clear, actionable insights through interactive reports and visualisations. The role will contribute to the ongoing improvement of RAAFA's data reporting capability by building scalable reporting solutions and transforming data into meaningful formats in collaboration with the various business units within RAAFA.

The Role Of The Reporting Developer
* Collaborating closely with the Data Analyst and stakeholders across the organisation to understand reporting requirements, business objectives, and key performance metrics.
* Assist in design, build, and maintenance of Power BI dashboards and interactive reports that provide clear, actionable insights for operational and strategic decision-making.
* Connect to, transform, and model data from multiple sources including SaaS platforms, CRM systems, APIs, and Excel-based SharePoint repositories.
* Develop and optimise data models using Power Query and DAX, ensuring data accuracy, performance, and maintainability.
* Assist in the creation and documentation of semantic models, calculated measures, and dashboard logic aligned with best practices.
* Work with the Data Analyst to identify reporting automation opportunities and improve data workflows across departments.
* Contribute to maintaining data accuracy, completeness, and integrity across reporting layers through validation, testing, and version control.
* Support the implementation of a scalable reporting layer aligned with emerging data governance and data warehousing frameworks.
Knowledge, Skills & Experience
* Bachelor's degree in a relevant field such as Information Systems, Computer Science or Data Analytics.
* 3–4 years of hands-on experience developing Power BI dashboards and data models in a business environment.
* Strong technical skills in Power BI Desktop and Power BI Service, including Power Query (M), DAX, and report publishing.
* Proven ability to work with a wide range of data sources including SQL databases, flat files, Excel, SharePoint, SaaS applications, and APIs.
* Demonstrated understanding of data modelling best practices (e.g., star schema, relationships, calculated columns/measures).
* Experience working with data flows, scheduled refreshes, and workspace management in Power BI.
* Strong problem-solving and data validation skills, with a focus on delivering clean, trustworthy reporting output.
* High awareness of data privacy, security, and role-based access controls, especially within sectors handling sensitive data such as aged care or health.
* Excellent communication skills and the ability to explain reporting logic and support non-technical stakeholders, with a patient and service-oriented approach to data request
