Our Client, an Internet Content and Information company, is looking for a Mechanical Engineer IV for their Redmond, WA location.
Responsibilities
Work as part of a multi-disciplinary team to design, manufacture, and assemble prototypes of soft wearable electronic devices
Apply sound engineering and design principles for manufacturing of injection molded components, soft electronic components, and novel sensor integrations in wearable electronics
Communicate with vendors on DFM and Manufacturing of designs for prototype builds
Collaborate with researchers and engineers to rapidly prototype hardware solutions, iterate, and run experiments.
Requirements
BS in Mechanical Engineering, or equivalent industry experience
4+ years of experience in designing hardware prototypes, preferably in wearable consumer electronics, or a similar field
Knowledge of the design process from concept to manufacturing
Average or higher experience with CAD modeling (Siemens NX preferred)
Physical prototyping experience
Demonstrated experience with Design for injection molding, liquid silicone rubber, 3D printing
Experience with FPC/PCB design
Knowledge of sensors
Experience developing wearable consumer electronics
Experience designing with soft goods or textiles
Hands-on prototyping with molding and casting of elastomers or industrial processes such as Liquid Injection Molding
Experience collaborating and communicating effectively on multi-disciplinary teams
Experience working in a fast-paced, dynamic environment
4+ years of experience in designing hardware prototypes, preferably in wearable consumer electronics, or a similar field
CAD Modeling Expertise
Proficiency with Siemens NX (or similar CAD tools like SolidWorks) for designing complex surfaces and components.
End-to-End Product Development
Ability to take designs from concept through manufacturing, including technical documentation and project management.
Deep understanding of design for injection molding, liquid silicone rubber, 3D printing, and FPC/PCB design.
Strong communication skills for working with vendors and cross-functional teams.
Physical Prototyping & Manufacturing Knowledge
Hands-on experience with prototyping, especially for wearable consumer electronics.
Experience with sensors and soft goods/textiles.
Experience developing wearable consumer electronics.
Familiarity with mechanical test and inspection equipment (Instron, microscopes, OMM, etc.).
Experience working in fast-paced, dynamic environments and collaborating on multi-disciplinary teams (big tech hardware is ideal).
Hands-on prototyping with molding/casting of elastomers or industrial processes (e.g., Liquid Injection Molding).
