Position: Assistant Maintenance Person
Status: Part-time – fixed-term until 16.12.2026, Monday to Friday (9.00 am – 2.00 pm)
Salary: $26.30 per hour + $3.55 per hour (remote allowance) + additional allowances and superannuation
Service name: Wadeye Kardu Darrikardu Numida Hostel
Location: Wadeye, Northern Territory 0822
Located in the small coastal community of Wadeye, the Kardu Darrikardu Numida Hostel is a 24/7 operating service.

What you'll do
* Assist with routine maintenance across hostel buildings and residences.
* Support minor repairs to fixtures, furniture, fencing, doors, and fittings.
* Help maintain gardens, lawns, and outdoor spaces.
* Assist with mowing, edging, weed control, watering, and rubbish removal
* Support pool maintenance tasks under direction of the Maintenance Officer
* Set up and pack down tools and equipment safely
* Identify hazards and report risks immediately
* Follow WHS procedures and site safety instructions
* Maintain clean and secure storage of tools and materials
* Support basic stock checks and supplies for maintenance tasks
* Assist with preparing areas for contractors or inspections
* Carry out other reasonable duties as directed
What you'll need
* Be eligible to work in Australia and willing to move to Wadeye, NT
* Current and valid NT Ochre card (Working with Children Check)
* Clear National Police Clearance certificate (less than 6 months old)
* Valid Northern Land Council permit
* General knowledge and previous experience with maintenance and garden
* Knowledge of health and safety rules and legislation
