We're looking for a permanent part-time Weekend Markets Assistant to join the Canning Vale Weekend Markets.
About Us:
Perth Markets Group Limited (PMGL) is an unlisted public company, landowner, property developer and manager. Steeped in history dating back to 1897, Perth Markets is WA's only wholesale fresh produce market and home to the retail and commercial precinct, Market City, and the iconic Canning Vale Weekend Markets.
Each weekend the Saturday Clearance Market and Sunday Community Market are open to the public and attract circa 6,000+ visitors each weekend. The new August Winter Night Market Series opens each Saturday night in August.
About the Role:

You will be assisting the Weekend Market Manager and Weekend Market Assistant Manager in the running of the markets and the activation of seasonal themes and activities. You will have a proactive, professional and customer-focused mindset and be comfortable working with a variety of stallholders, customers, tenants and the general public.
Work Schedule
· Permanent set shifts, including every weekend (Saturday and Sunday mornings) on-site.
· Additional office day for admin tasks during the week.
The role includes:
· Assisting with the smooth running of the Community Market and Events Department.
· Managing and maintaining booking databases to ensure accuracy and organization.
· Coordinating bookings and sending follow-up emails to confirm arrangements.
· Performing administrative and office tasks once a week.
· Working permanent set shifts, including every weekend (Saturday and Sunday mornings) on the ground.
· Leading and supervising a team of casual staff effectively.
· $35 per hour flat rate, plus leave entitlements and superannuation.
About You:
Essential:
· Solid administrative skills and/or retail and cash-handling experience.
· Sound computer skills.
· Ability to start early as 5AM.
· Must be available to work every weekend.
· Permanent Resident/Citizen status.
Desirable:
· Strong customer service and communication skills.
· Experience in event coordination or community engagement.
· Experience with Microsoft Excel spreadsheets.
· Experience in budgeting and forecasting.
