Remuneration: $80,452 - $133,191.02 + Superannuation

About The Opportunity
* The Safeguards Team is a new dedicated CAMHS resource designed to provide innovative and best practice care to children and adolescents aged 0‐17 years experiencing acute mental health distress.
* The team is community based and provides rapid response to resolve mental health crisis, including assertive outreach, care coordination and time‐limited therapeutic interventions across community and inpatient settings.
* The Aboriginal Mental Health Clinician functions within a multidisciplinary team and gives priority to coordination of the recovery of Aboriginal people with a mental illness or disorder, providing expert clinical coordination, leadership and consultancy services in collaboration with consumers.
* The position sits within the Safeguards CAMHS Response Team ('Safeguards Team') and reports to the FWLHD – Safeguards Team Clinical Leader with professional responsibility to the FWLHD – CAMHS District Manager.
Responsibilities
* Deliver CAMHS services to children and adolescents up to 17 years of age.
* Provide rapid response and assertive outreach to resolve mental health crises.
* Coordinate therapeutic interventions across community and inpatient settings.
* Provide expert clinical coordination, leadership and consultancy to Aboriginal clients and consumers.
* Report to the Safeguards Team Clinical Leader and CAMHS District Manager.
Qualifications
* Be of Aboriginal or Torres Strait Islander descent.
* Meet one of the following criteria:
o Occupational Therapy Level 3: AHPRA registered occupational therapist with minimum 3 years clinical experience in CAMHS.
o Social Worker Level 3: Bachelor of Social Work with eligibility for membership to AASW and minimum 3 years clinical experience in CAMHS.
o Graduate of the Djirruwang Bach of Health Science program with minimum 3 years clinical experience in CAMHS.
o Psychologist Year 4 or above: AHPRA registered psychologist with full registration and minimum 4 years clinical experience.
o Senior Psychologist: AHPRA registered psychologist with 1 year at the 9th year of service and thereafter point on the salary scale for Psychologist.
o Clinical Nurse Consultant 1: AHPRA registered RN with minimum 5 years full‐time equivalent post‐reg clinical experience and relevant postgraduate qualifications.
* Extensive effective experience in assessment, intervention, and care coordination in CAMHS.
* Demonstrated ability to independently problem solve, apply professional and ethical boundaries when working with complex situations as part of a multidisciplinary team.
* Extensive contemporary knowledge of psychological practice and understanding of trauma informed care principles applied to children/adolescents and families/carers.
* Highly developed written and verbal communication skills and competence in the use of information technology systems.
* Availability to work extended hours and across FWLHD sites on request.
* Current unrestricted Australian driver's licence (P2 acceptable) with the requirement to obtain a NSW licence within 3 months of appointment.
