Eligibility : Open to Everyone Role Status: Full-time term vacancy available until 24 April **** Remuneration: $76,561 - $80,256 Role Details: Join us as a Kinship Care Worker in Mount Gambier and help shape brighter futures for children and young people.
Working within the Kinship Care team, you will play a key role in supporting and educating kinship carers so they can provide safe, nurturing and culturally responsive homes.

In this role, you will Build strong relationships that support open communication with carers and families.
Provide practical guidance, education and brief interventions to strengthen day to day care.
Identify risks, barriers and support needs to help carers provide safe and stable environments.
Work collaboratively with case managers and partners to link families with services.
Monitor placements and contribute to reviews that support the best interests of children.
To be successful You bring a genuine commitment to improving the lives of children and young people by supporting the families who care for them.
Your understanding of parenting, family dynamics, trauma and child development will help you respond effectively to a diverse range of carers and situations.
You will be confident in working with people from different backgrounds, including Aboriginal families, and will use strong communication, negotiation and conflict resolution skills to guide and educate carers.
Your ability to recognise needs, think creatively and build trusted relationships will help you make a real difference in this role.

About the Business: Kinship Care is a type of family-based care provided to children and young people under the Guardianship or Custody of the Chief Executive, or another order of authority.
Kinship carers may be relatives, extended family members, kin, or individuals who had an existing relationship with the child or young person.
In South Australia, kinship carers are supported by both the DCP Kinship Care Program and the Aboriginal Kinship Care Support Program, which is operated by Aboriginal Community Controlled Organisations (ACCOs).
These programs provide ongoing support, information, and training to identified kinship carers.
The DCP Kinship Care Program: Provides a state-wide program offering targeted support, information, and training to kinship carers based on their needs.
Includes support to Aboriginal carers and carers of Aboriginal children and young people who wish to be supported by the DCP Kinship Care Program.
Is delivered through eight teams aligned to North and South locations.
