What You'll Be Doing
The vision for South Eastern Sydney Local Health District (SESLHD) is "exceptional care, healthier lives." SESLHD is committed to enabling the community to be healthy and well and to providing compassionate care when people need it. Child and Family Health Nurses and Midwives are Registered Nurses and Midwives with postgraduate qualifications in primary health care to work within a primary health care model. The service provides children aged 0-5 years with a comprehensive service, incorporating evidence-based practice and cultural sensitivities, while aligning with current policies. This involves undertaking physical, emotional and psychosocial assessments to identify families' strengths and vulnerabilities to enable early identification and appropriate interventions. The service is delivered in Child and Family Health Clinics, Central intake, Family Care Cottages, and in the home setting, in partnership with specialised programs to support vulnerable families (SNF, BSF, Parent Support Team).

Selection Criteria
* Current registration as a Registered Nurse and/or Midwife with AHPRA.
* Specific postgraduate qualification in Child and Family Health Nursing or near completion.
* Demonstrated ability to work in partnership with families within a primary health care setting.
* Demonstrated high-level written and verbal communication, interpersonal skills, and the ability to identify key messages, issues and concerns when communicating with others.
* Demonstrated understanding of breastfeeding and lactation.
* Basic computer skills and proven ability to use health information systems.
* Knowledge and understanding of risk management, safety and quality principles and the role of the RN/Midwife in applying these principles.
* Current unrestricted NSW driver's licence.
