Job Role
The Principal Tailings Engineer will play a crucial role in supporting our client's tailings and mine waste management operational teams to ensure facilities are safe.
* Key Responsibilities:
* Civil/Geotechnical/Tailings dam design;
* Geotechnical analyses using various software packages;
* Tailing deposition modelling with Muk3D expertise;
* Geotechnical and environmental site characterisation;
* Instrumentation monitoring systems development and management;
* Project/task management and proposal preparation support;
* Preparation of engineering reports, design calculations, drawings, technical specifications;
* Client Development opportunities.
Requirements:
* Bachelor's degree in civil or geotechnical engineering (required);
* Advanced degree preferred;
* Professional registration (not essential) and Engineer of Record (EoR) status required;
Skills and Experience:
* At least 8 years of experience in consulting or equivalent combination of education and experience required;
* Knowledge of relevant geotechnical engineering software;
* Numerical modeling tools expertise (desired);
* Ability to thrive in fast-paced consulting environments, handling multiple projects, meeting deadlines, and traveling as needed;
* Excellent writing and communication skills required;
* Field work and travel may be involved; valid Australian driver's license necessary.
