Job Summary
We are seeking a Counsellor and Group Facilitator to join our team.
Key Responsibilities
* Undertake intake and assessments, case management, individual face-to-face counselling and group facilitation of behaviour change programmes for clients referred for violence and abuse in intimate relationships.
* Coordinate with other agencies and services to provide a safe, holistic and integrated service to clients and families.
* Prepare written and oral reports.
* Advocate for clients, providing referrals and liaising with other agencies when appropriate.
Requirements
* Tertiary qualification (minimum Bachelor level) in Social Work, Psychology or Social Science.
* Minimum 2 years' experience in a similar role.
* Sound knowledge of case management and counselling for clients with issues such as family, sexual and child abuse, relationship discord and grief.
* Strong clinical skills in domestic violence and trauma, including impact on families and children.
* Knowledge of and ability to facilitate groups in line with the Perpetrator Intervention Service Requirements.
* Proven ability to work cooperatively within a multidisciplinary team in a complex human services environment.
