Groundsperson
St Simon Peter Catholic Primary School is a learning organisation located in Ocean Reef catering for approximately 680 children in our ELC and Kindergarten through to Year 6.
We are seeking an experienced, healthy and energetic person who can work with our current staff to continue to maintain the school facilities to a high standard.
The successful candidate would be required to work part-time (24-30 hours per week, with days and times to be negotiated with the successful applicant) and would also be available to take on full-time employment for short periods of time when required.
Selection Criteria
* Demonstrated knowledge of operating and safely using common grounds and maintenance equipment.
* Background and experience in building maintenance and/or groundskeeping.
* Physical capability to meet the demands of the role, including manual handling, outdoor work, and tasks requiring sustained physical activity.
* Proven ability to work effectively as part of a team, including following directions and contributing positively to collaborative tasks.
* A pleasant, approachable, and cooperative manner when engaging with staff, students, contractors, and visitors.
* A strong understanding of workplace safety requirements, with evidence of consistent commitment to safe work practices in previous roles, and the ability to use common sense to tackle complications.
* Willingness to engage in ongoing training and upskilling to enhance knowledge, efficiency, and overall performance in the role.
