Job Title: Consultant Psychiatrist - Fife CAMHS We are seeking a Consultant Psychiatrist to work 7 sessions in Fife CAMHS.
The post will cover part of the East Fife area and be based within the EAST team.
The base is located at Playfield House, Stratheden Hospital, Cupar, with clinic rooms in Glenrothes and Kirkcaldy.
Currently, there is no on-call requirement, but this may change in the future.
Contributing to emergency response during working hours is expected.
Department Overview The Fife CAMHS department includes experienced clinicians from disciplines such as Psychology, Occupational Therapy, Nursing, Child Psychotherapy, and Dietetics.
The postholder will join an established team of Consultant Psychiatrists, including a core trainee from the South East Scotland training scheme, approved for Higher training from the Scottish National training scheme.
Specialist Services We have developed an Intensive Therapy Service, including Eating Disorders, providing community-based support for children and young people with severe mental health issues.
The service also includes teams for self-harm, looked-after children, and those who have experienced sexual abuse.
The psychiatrist will contribute to all teams, with a focus on the Intensive Therapy Team, handling presentations such as anxiety, depression, trauma, eating difficulties, and ADHD with co-morbidities.
Additional Opportunities The service encourages skill development, research, and knowledge sharing.
Support for research and training opportunities will be available to the successful candidate.
Recent Developments The Neurodevelopmental Pathway (NDP) has been recently implemented, emphasizing collaboration among multidisciplinary teams, education, and tailored support around neurodivergence.
Qualifications and Experience Candidates must possess MRCPsych or an equivalent qualification and be within 6 months of obtaining the CCT from interview.

Registration and Eligibility Applicants must have full GMC registration, a license to practice, and be eligible for the GMC Specialist Register.
UK-trained candidates should have evidence of higher specialist training leading to CCT or be within 6 months of confirmed entry.
Non-UK applicants must demonstrate equivalent training and skills.
