Selection Criteria Demonstrated experience as a wardsperson or in a patient care role within an acute care setting Demonstrated ability to work independently, with effective time management and prioritisation skills Good knowledge of Infection Control and, Work Health and Safety standards and procedures, with a particular focus on clinical manual handling Ability to work effectively as a team member, supporting other and taking directions from team leaders, supervisors and other staff as required. Good communication skills, both written and verbal, and the ability to communicate respectfully to line management, colleagues, patients and visitors. Ability to perform the physical demands of the position, which includes pushing patient occupied beds, lifting patients using relevant equipment and mobilising wheeled equipment. Ability and willingness to work a 24 hr/ 7 day per week rotating roster across Blacktown and Mount Druitt Hospital, which includes weekends and public holidays.
