An exciting opportunity has arisen for an experienced and commercially astute General Manager – Financial Control to join For Purpose Aged Care and play a pivotal role in strengthening and scaling our financial governance during a period of national growth.
Reporting to the Chief Financial Officer, this is a senior leadership role within the Finance and Executive team.
The position is accountable for the integrity, governance and effectiveness of the organisation's financial control environment, ensuring robust compliance, strong internal controls and scalable finance operations across the Group.
This role provides executive leadership across financial accounting, statutory and aged care reporting, payroll, resident billing and treasury, and acts as a key advisor to the CFO, Operations leadership and the Audit & Risk Committee.
This role will have 3 teams reporting into them including the Payroll Team (6), Accounts Receivable team (5) and Treasury Function (1).
To be successful in this position you will be able to demonstrate your experience against the following Key Focus Areas:
* Leading the annual external audit process, including statutory financial statements, Aged Care Financial Reports (ACFR) and Quarterly Financial Reports (QFR)
* Establishing and overseeing an internal audit capability, including control testing and remediation
* Maintaining balance sheet integrity across cash, receivables, provisions, employee entitlements and fixed assets
* Providing expert technical accounting advice to the CFO on M&A, leasing, ESG and sustainability reporting
* Developing and maintaining financial control frameworks, policies and documentation
* Leading the payroll function to improve processes, structure and employee experienceLeading the accounts receivable function to enhance efficiency and resident billing outcomes
* Providing oversight of treasury, including cashflow management, banking covenants and prudential compliance
* Monitoring compliance with Aged Care Prudential Standards, including RAD register governance
* Supporting digital transformation initiatives across finance and the broader organisation
* Building, mentoring and leading high-performing finance teams
What You Will Bring To This Role
* CA or CPA qualification (essential)
* Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance (essential)
* Experience in a senior financial control or financial accounting leadership role
* Demonstrated experience within the aged care sector (highly regarded)
* Audit firm experience (highly regarded)
* Strong understanding of regulatory, statutory and prudential reporting requirements
* Excellent written and verbal communication skills with the ability to influence senior stakeholders
* Proven leadership capability with experience managing and developing teams
* Advanced proficiency in MS Excel, PowerPoint and Word
* A proactive, adaptable mindset with a passion for process improvement
* Understanding of EBA payroll rules and operational rosters in aged care (desirable)
