About the role and where you will be working:
Our residential Care team at Germanus Kent House are currently looking for a Cook to work closely with the Chef on a permanent part time basis.
Shifts:
Friday's and Saturday's 7am - 3pm.
We want our residents to feel at home, and we fully cater for all different types of dietary needs. So you'll be serving meals that could be texture‑modified or plated in a particular way.
Our residents get to enjoy freshly prepared meals, regular outings, music therapy and family‑like care.
About you:
You may already be working in a similar role in aged care or perhaps you've worked in restaurants / commercial kitchens and are ready to try something different.
To be considered for this role, you'll need:
* Prior experience in commercial cooking services
* Adherence to dietary requirements (allergies, texture modified, purees, etc.)
* Maintaining legislated food hygiene and general safety practices
* An understanding of specific dietary requirements
* Knowledge of safe handling & storage of chemicals
* Great interpersonal skills
* Certificate III in Commercial Cookery from an accredited training body
