Team Leader - Public Affairs We are looking for a pro-active and strategic Team Leader - Public Affairs to join our Government, Stakeholder and Community team to successfully implement our enterprise engagement plan for the benefit of our customers. You and your small team will contribute to building trusted stakeholder relationships externally, enhanced stakeholder engagement capabilities internally and coordinate opportunities with Sydney Water’s corporate memberships to position us for the future. Responsibilities Provide strategic coordination and oversight of the implementation of Sydney Water’s enterprise stakeholder engagement plan and develop plans to support other enterprise initiatives as required. Lead and oversee the preparation of regular reporting products, to share stakeholder insights and analysis to support internal decision making. Lead the management, optimisation and adoption of Sydney Water’s stakeholder CRM (Consultation Manager). including training, reporting, analysis and data management Scan the external environment to pro-actively identify and anticipate socio-political trends and insights with the potential to impact the organisation and work within the business to address these. About You: Relevant tertiary qualification/s (e.g. in communication, public policy, public relations, economics, business or a related field). Demonstrated experience working in stakeholder engagement, government relations, public affairs, and or communications in a corporation, government department or agency — ideally within water, energy, infrastructure, or regulatory sectors Demonstrated experience scanning and analysing the socio-political environment and providing sound advice to senior executives. Ability to build strong and influential relationships both internally and externally to support enterprise priorities. Demonstrated experience in overseeing or implementing CRM software Sound understanding of government relations at the State and local level and a knowledge of how to mitigate or leverage community issues and opportunities in this space. Understanding of political, market and commercial drivers for major projects, and demonstrated ability to responsively negotiate, assign and manage financial, operational and business risk.
