The Opportunity

Based across St Vincent's and St Luke's Hospitals in Launceston and reporting to the Director of Clinical Services / General Manager, the Perioperative Services Manager provides strategic and operational leadership across the full perioperative continuum.

The role will lead the service through a period of transition, consolidation and growth, with the commissioning and integration of new modular theatres.

This is a critical leadership position, requiring strong operational discipline, change leadership and commercial acumen to establish clear processes, build capability and deliver a stable, future-ready operating model.

Key areas of responsibility include:

* Lead clinical governance and oversee safe, efficient perioperative operations in line with accreditation and regulatory standards (NSQHS, ACORN and sterilisation standards AS/NZS 5369:2023).
* Drive performance through improved scheduling, utilisation, patient flow and on-time starts across theatres, endoscopy, day procedure, PACU and CSSD.
* Build and lead a capable, engaged workforce and strong relationships with VMOs and clinical teams ensuring harmony and collaboration across the hospitals.
* Manage financial performance and lead service growth, capital works and expansion initiatives.

About You

The successful candidate will be comfortable setting direction and will provide the visible, values‑led leadership needed to build trust across clinical teams, VMOs and executives while embedding sustainable, high‑performing, person‑centred perioperative services.

The ideal candidate will have:

* Current AHPRA registration as a Registered Nurse, with senior leadership experience (preferably in complex perioperative services).
* Strong knowledge of NSQHS, ACORN and sterilisation standards (AS/NZS 5369:2023), with a focus on quality and safety.
* Proven capability in driving theatre utilisation, patient flow, service efficiency and leading change.
* Proven track record developing and leading high performing best practice teams.
