Overview
My client is seeking a highly capable Tax Manager to join their Finance team of 40+ professionals, covering AP, AR, Payroll, and Accounts. This pivotal role reports directly to the Head of Corporate Accounting & Tax and will see you play a key part in shaping tax strategy, ensuring compliance, and delivering accurate reporting across a complex group structure.
This is a hands-on and strategic role, perfect for someone with large corporate or Big 4 experience who thrives in fast-paced, high-performance environments.
Key Responsibilities
* Manage and oversee all tax entries for Australian entities, ensuring accurate consolidation.
* Lead preparation, review, and lodgement of BAS, GST, FBT, and Workcover returns.
* Deliver accurate tax effect accounting, deferred tax calculations, and consolidation of 13 Australian entities plus 5 NACG group entities for reporting to Canada.
* Provide tax strategy and advisory support to senior executives, offering practical and commercial solutions.
* Partner with internal and external stakeholders, including auditors and regulatory authorities.
* Drive continuous improvement in tax compliance processes and internal controls.
What You\'ll Bring
* CA/CPA qualified with a degree in Accounting, Commerce, or related field.
* Experience in corporate tax or Big 4, ideally within MEC groups and consolidation environments.
* Strong technical knowledge of Australian tax law, ATO requirements, and IFRS/Corporations Act compliance.
* Skilled in Excel and ERP systems (exposure to JDE/Oracle advantageous).
* Proactive communicator with the ability to engage across all levels of the business.
Nice to Have
* Commercial exposure in mining, civil, or heavy industries.
* Familiarity with US GAAP standards.
