Eden Ritchie Recruitment are seeking an experienced Financial Accountant to join a large, asset-intensive organisation within a well-established finance function. This role provides critical support across financial accounting, reporting, controls, and audit activities, and will suit a technically capable accountant who enjoys working in a structured, compliance-focused environment. Key Responsibilities Deliver accurate and timely financial accounting functions, including preparation and posting of journals and completion of account reconciliations. Design, implement, test, and document financial controls across accounting processes and systems. Support the production of statutory and non-statutory financial reports, disclosures, and external reporting requirements. Contribute to the planning and delivery of external audit activities, including coordination of audit requirements and supporting documentation. Develop, review, and maintain accounting policies, procedures, and guidelines to ensure compliance with internal governance frameworks and external regulations. Provide financial insights and analysis by contributing to reporting strategies, templates, and complex reporting outputs. Support financial systems process improvements, enhancements, and change initiatives. Identify opportunities for process improvement and work collaboratively with stakeholders to strengthen financial practices. About You Demonstrated experience in financial accounting within a medium to large, complex organisation. Strong technical accounting capability with experience in journals, reconciliations, controls, and financial reporting. Sound understanding of Australian Accounting Standards and regulatory compliance. Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret financial data and provide practical insights. Well-developed written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to work collaboratively across teams. High attention to detail and a proactive, accountable approach to work. Qualifications and Experience Degree qualification in Accounting, Finance, Business or a related discipline.
