Our client, a Federal Government agency focused on developing policies and programs that support Australian industry, science, resources, energy, emissions reduction, and small and family businesses, is seeking an experienced UI Designer (Front End Developer)
Duties of the UI Designer (Front End Developer)
* Define user‐centric designs, iterate and improve to add additional value, based on user feedback;
* Be responsible for user‐focused UI designs and specification of user flows, prototypes, high‐fidelity interfaces;
* Implement UI components using HTML/CSS and JavaScript;
* Coach back‐end engineers on usability and front‐end development
* Tackle complex problems and transform them into intuitive, easy‐to‐use designs; communicate them via user flows, wireframes, and prototypes
* Translate and problem‐solve designs, POCs and wireframes into modules and high‐quality code for optimal usability and accessibility outcomes
Skills and Experience Required
* Demonstrated experience designing user interfaces within an existing style guide and/or design system using HTML, CSS, and JavaScript frameworks such as ReactJS and/or Angular;
* Knowledge and implementation of accessibility requirements – (WCAG) 2.1, level AA as a minimum;
* Demonstrated experience designing wireframes, user interfaces, and interactive prototypes with high attention to detail and the ability to rapidly prototype, test, and iterate designs;
* Tertiary qualifications in a design or computer science/ICT‐related discipline.
