Sacred Heart Preschool & Long Day Care Centre - 511 Bunnerong Road, Matraville NSW 2036

We are seeking an experienced and dedicated Cook to prepare healthy and nutritious meals for the children at our BRAND NEW Preschool and Long Day Care in Matraville!
This is apermanent part-time position (30 hours per week, 6-hour shifts), offering a fantastic chance to contribute to a nurturing setting that supports children's growth and well-being.
About the Role
As part of our team, you will play a key role in ensuring children receive balanced and nutritious meals while maintaining the highest standards of food safety and hygiene. You will create a welcoming and warm atmosphere for children, families, and staff through your dedication and passion for food.
Responsibilities
- Planning and preparing appealing, balanced, and nutritious meals.
- Ensuring compliance with food safety regulations for the safe and hygienic handling, storage, and preparation of food.
- Catering for special dietary requirements and allergies.
About You
You are an organised, creative, and passionate cook who takes pride in meal planning and preparation. Your enthusiasm and commitment to the health and well-being of children will be evident in your approach.
Qualifications
- Recognised training in food safety and nutrition.
- Experience catering for children aged 0-6 years, including those with special dietary needs.
- Demonstrated knowledge of nutrition and cost‑effective menu planning.
- Understanding of the Education and Care Services National Regulations and Department of Health Regulations.
- Ability to comply with food handling legislation, childcare regulations, and centre policies.
- A sound understanding of the Food Standards Australia & New Zealand Code.
- Food Safety Supervisor Certificate.
- Valid Working with Children Check.
- First Aid Certificate (or willingness to obtain).
- Anaphylaxis Emergency Management Certificate (or willingness to obtain).
- Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to work both independently and within a team.
