Your new role
As a HAP Worker, you will contribute to the creation of a compassionate and supportive environment for individuals experiencing homelessness by adopting an open, engaging style aimed at building a sense of safety, trust, and rapport. The position's purpose is to foster a sense of connection, community, advocate for consumers, and support consumers to access health and homelessness supports.
In this role, you will play a vital role in bridging the gap between health and homelessness and ensuring that clients feel welcomed, valued, and empowered. By engaging in planned activities designed to be inclusive and build confidence, and offering assistance with basic needs, you will help enhance the overall wellbeing of those seeking support.

Your skills and experience
* Minimum Certificate 3 in community services, health, welfare or other relevant qualifications, or willing to undertake these studies.
* Lived experience of homelessness, rough sleeping, and transitioning into a home.
* Demonstrated experience with consumer participation.
* Demonstrated ability to engage and work effectively with consumers experiencing homelessness in a respectful, compassionate and appropriate manner.
* Well developed communication and conflict resolution skills.
