The Organisation
The Aboriginal Health Council of South Australia Limited (AHCSA) is the peak body representing Aboriginal community-controlled health and substance misuse services in South Australia at state and national levels.
Our primary role is to be the 'health voice' for all Aboriginal people in South Australia. We achieve this by advocating for the community and supporting workers through our Member Services with appropriate Aboriginal health programs based on a holistic perspective of health.
Summary of the Role
* Coordinate executive workflows, schedules, and priorities to support the Deputy CEO and GM Sector Development in achieving organisational objectives.
* Facilitate communication and information flow across teams and directorates to ensure alignment and timely action.
* Provide high-level administrative and logistical support for meetings, committees, travel, and key projects with professionalism and confidentiality.
* Manage communication channels and draft accurate, culturally respectful correspondence, briefings, and reports.
* Deliver clear and professional interpersonal and written communication with internal and external stakeholders.
* Act as the first point of contact for the Directorate, ensuring a welcoming and culturally respectful experience for visitors and callers.
* Assist with planning and delivery of meetings, workshops, and events, including logistics, materials, and post-event documentation.
* Maintain accurate records, data, and document management systems to support compliance and organisational effectiveness.
* Support continuous improvement of administrative processes and contribute to organisational compliance activities.
* Uphold confidentiality, privacy, and cultural protocols in all interactions and information handling.
* Foster collaboration, teamwork, and a culturally safe workplace aligned with AHCSA's values.
* Provide guidance and support for data accuracy, reporting, and information management to assist decision-making.
* Provide secretariat support for the Aboriginal Cultural Advisory Committee (ACAC) including preparing agendas, drafting minutes, coordinating actions, maintaining accurate records and engaging respectfully with Aboriginal leaders and stakeholders
Experience
* Proven experience in Senior Administration or Executive Support roles, ideally within Aboriginal health, government, community services, or not-for-profit sectors.
* Skilled in coordinating workflows, implementing organisational systems, and supporting senior leaders with high-level administrative tasks.
* Experience providing secretariat support, including meeting coordination, minute-taking, and accurate reporting for committees or working groups.
* Strong capability in event and stakeholder coordination, ensuring effective logistics, communication, and engagement.
* Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and ability to produce professional documentation, reports, and presentations.
* Relevant qualifications in Business Administration (Certificate III/IV) or equivalent, with experience building relationships across government and non-government organisations.
