The Organisation
The Aboriginal Health Council of South Australia Limited (AHCSA) is the peak body representing Aboriginal community-controlled health and substance misuse services in South Australia at state and national levels.
Our primary role is to be the 'health voice' for all Aboriginal people in South Australia. We achieve this by advocating for the community and supporting workers through our Member Services with appropriate Aboriginal health programs based on a holistic perspective of health.
Summary of the Role
The Officer Coordinator / EA provides high-level administrative and coordination support to the General Manager, Business Services and the broader Directorate, ensuring the effective, professional and confidential operation of AHCSA's corporate functions.
Duties include:
* Providing high-level administrative support to the General Manager and Directorate, coordinating workflows, schedules, and priorities.
* Facilitating communication and task coordination across Business Services, HR, IT, and Finance to ensure operational consistency
* Assisting in implementing best-practice systems, templates, and processes to enhance cross-directorate effectiveness.
* Managing logistics for meetings, travel, and projects with discretion and confidentiality.
* Delivering professional, culturally aware front-of-house and reception support, ensuring a welcoming experience.
* Maintaining accurate databases and registers, supporting data integrity and compliance tracking.
* Preparing and formatting documents, reports, and presentations aligned with organisational standards.
* Coordinating internal communications and draft correspondence, briefings, and materials with professionalism and sound judgment.
* Supporting the planning and delivery of meetings, workshops, and events, including logistics and post-event processes.
* Promoting a collaborative, respectful workplace culture aligned with AHCSA's values and community-led practice.
* Contributing to continuous improvement initiatives and participate in cross-functional activities and events.
* Upholding confidentiality, privacy, and data protection standards in all administrative practices.
Essential Experience
* Experience in an administrative or executive support role within an Aboriginal organisation or within a healthcare, community services, not-for-profit or state/federal government setting
* Experience participating in establishing and/or maintaining business systems, practices, processes, and procedures within an organisational context.
* Experience in event coordination and taking minutes and reporting on meeting outcomes for various groups.
* Experience in using Microsoft Office applications, including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook, for various tasks.
Desirable Experience
* Experience in communicating with representatives at high levels of government and non-government organisations.
* Experience working in multi-disciplinary teams within the health sector, collaborating with professionals from various disciplines.
* Experience in developing and maintaining relationships with key external stakeholders, including government agencies and non-government organisations
* Certificate III or IV in Business Administration, or other relevant post-secondary training and/or qualifications.
