About the role
Our Aftercare & Facilities Maintenance Team is growing We are looking for a qualified casual carpenter or handyman who would play a supporting role to the AFM Manager across multiple sites. The Maintenance Technician is responsible for carrying out building maintenance works, coordinating installations, responding to callouts, and completing diagnostic and repair services across a broad range of sites and locations for our clients, offering a high level of customer service.
About you
* Competent carpentry skills
* Competent at plastering, patching and painting
* Hands on across minor works and maintenance projects
* Ensure tasks are completed on time
* Can provide excellent customer service to all stakeholders and communication skills
* Supervising of other Trades (Electricians, Plumbers etc) for simple works
* Can undertake site inspections for new works
* Ensure elements of site safety and cleanliness are adhered to
* Drive a positive attitude within the team
* Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
Please note the role would be an average of 20 hours per week with the potential to become a permanent full time role upon review.
The hourly rate would be $63.00 per hour inclusive of super + industry allowances.
Skillset
* Strong experience within the commercial building industry or facilities maintenance
* Handyman experience and/or Trade qualification (Building, Carpentry or Joinery) and current construction industry card
* Basic understanding of the principles of most trades and services and building codes safety and regulations
* Excellent understanding and proven dedication to EHSQ principles
* Basic computer literacy skills
* Ability to build and maintain great relationships
* Flexible and adaptable
* Punctual and presentable
* Analytical and problem- solving skills
* Time management skills
