We are seeking a skilled professional to fill the role of Category Lead – Indirects. This position involves managing allocated indirect spend categories and contributing to key programs related to strategically important sectors.
Responsibilities
* Develop and implement category management strategies across areas such as IT, Facilities, Legal, Finance, Fleet and other allocated categories.
* Assist stakeholders in supply chain and procurement activities including cost optimisation, purchasing, forecasting and risk management.
* Contribute knowledge of supplier markets to improve competitive advantage and service outcomes.
* Support the delivery of sector supply‑chain roadmaps to ensure alignment with company processes, systems and policy.
* Collaborate with departments to identify, qualify and manage suppliers for tactical and strategic purchasing.
* Maintain awareness of compliance requirements for suppliers in regulated environments.
* Implement supply‑chain frameworks that support business strategies, adapt to market changes and cost‑optimisation needs.
* Build strong working relationships with stakeholders, colleagues, suppliers and external partners to support best practice and consistency in sourcing.
Qualifications & Experience
* A degree in Business or Engineering or equivalent experience.
* Experience in Procurement, Category Management or Supply Chain, preferably with indirect categories.
* Demonstrated experience contributing to business or project procurement activities.
* Experience with procurement and supply‑chain modules within ERP systems.
* Experience in regulated environments, preferably Defence or ISO regulated.
* Knowledge of end‑to‑end supply‑chain management, procurement and supplier engagement practices, including contract drafting and negotiation.
* Ability to support process and system improvements in solution design and commercial outcomes.
* Familiarity with import/export of regulated products is advantageous.
* Strong problem‑solving skills with the ability to address challenges that impact projects and functional delivery.
* Effective communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to engage stakeholders effectively.
* A results‑oriented, organised and delivery‑focused approach.
Eligibility for Australian Defence security clearance is mandatory. Current security clearance is advantageous.
