Utilise your passion and experience in light vehicle mechanics to teach students at Charles Darwin University (CDU)
About the Position
As a Lecturer – Light Vehicle, you will contribute to the VET teaching and assessment programs in campus classrooms, workshops and/or the workplace environment. Working under the Australian Skills Quality Authority (ASQA), the competency standards of the Automotive Retail, Service and Repair (AUR) Training Package and industry requirements, the main focus is to be on training, customer service and student administration to current students and apprentices.
About You
To be successful, you will require:
* Certificate III in Light Vehicle Mechanical Technology and/or at least 5 years relevant post trade experience in the Automotive industry.
* Hold TAE40116 Certificate IV in Training and Assessment or its successor or equivalent qualification as outlined by Australian Skills Quality Authority Framework (ASQA) or the ability to obtain this qualification in a set time frame and have demonstrated relevant working experience covering the specific areas of the current Automotive Retail, Service and Repair (AUR) Training Package.
* Relevant experience in training with the context of the Light Vehicle and/or Heavy Vehicle Trade and be able to demonstrate an understanding of Competency Based Training and Workplace Assessment.
* Demonstrated effective professional interactions with learners, industry and other stakeholders by engaging, respecting, involving listening to and encouraging clients in order to provide best customer focus service.
* Demonstrated ability to engage in effective and proactive teamwork recognising the abilities of others and utilising co-operative approaches.
* Have the ability to work flexible work hours and to travel and work in remote areas.
* Engaging with direct reports to develop meaningful objectives and ensuring career development plans are established and recorded.
* Holding Performance feedback meetings on a regular basis (once per month minimum) with each direct report and providing feedback in a constructive and timely manner.
* Ensuring all delegations and responsibilities are undertaken in accordance with University Policies, Staff Agreements, and Delegations.
* Commitment to the University's values.
Remuneration
Appointment to this role will be at Teaching Focused Level A. The base salary will be in the range of $76,604 to $114,924 per annum. The total remuneration package will be in the range of $89626 to $134,461 per annum, including 17% superannuation.
