A Sydney-based solar and home battery retailer/installer is hiring a Sales Manager – Residential Solar & Battery to build and lead a new SDR function and scale performance on top of an established lead-generation engine. Based in Silverwater with hybrid flexibility, this role is for someone who can create structure from day one—hiring SDRs, setting standards, and turning strong lead flow into consistent revenue while protecting customer experience and delivery outcomes.
The hard part—demand and lead generation—already exists. Your mandate is to turn it into a predictable, high-converting sales system. You'll have ownership to build a team, define the playbook, and shape a repeatable operating rhythm across qualification, handover and close. What you'll do
* Design and build the SDR team: hire, onboard, coach and manage SDRs to qualify leads and set high-quality appointments.
* Own the SDR operating system: scripts, QA, call coaching, cadence, scorecards, and daily/weekly rhythms.
* Partner with marketing/lead-gen stakeholders to improve lead quality, speed-to-lead, and conversion by source.
* Create a clear handover pathway from SDR → closer/consultant (or end-to-end model), ensuring clean notes, accurate sizing context and expectations.
* Drive performance reporting: pipeline hygiene, forecasting, conversion metrics, and continuous improvement.
* Collaborate with operations/design to ensure what's sold is deliverable, compliant and aligned to customer outcomes.
What we're looking for
* Proven experience building or scaling an SDR/inside sales team (solar/battery strongly preferred; adjacent high-volume consultative sales considered).
* Strong coaching capability—able to lift talk tracks, objection handling, and appointment quality quickly.
* Data-driven operator: comfortable owning KPIs like speed-to-lead, connect rate, set rate, show rate, close rate, and revenue per lead.
* High standards for customer experience and truthful selling (no overpromising).
* CRM proficiency and discipline.
